BIM Coordinator
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced and self-driven BIM Coordinator to join our engineering and technical delivery team. In this role, you will lead the implementation, management, and coordination of Building Information Modelling (BIM) processes across complex linear infrastructure, high-voltage power transmission, and utility projects.
You will work closely with multi-disciplinary engineering teams, project managers, site managers, and clients to ensure digital models and geospatial data strictly align with industry standards (ISO 19650), project execution plans, and client requirements.
Key Responsibilities
BIM Strategy & Implementation:
Draft, update, and implement project-specific BIM Execution Plans (BEP) in accordance with ISO 19650 standards.
Establish and manage the Common Data Environment (CDE) across external client interfaces and internal project teams.
Model Coordination & Spatial Control:
Coordinate and integrate multi-disciplinary models (Civil, Structural, Cable Route Engineering, Electrical Substation, and Utility Networks).
Conduct clash detection, spatial coordination, and model audit reviews; manage model health reports and issue tracking logs.
Coordinate spatial data between GIS (Geographic Information Systems) and BIM environments to map underground utility corridors, route constraints, and ground features accurately.
Project Delivery & Asset Data Management:
Ensure models adhere to specified Levels of Definition/Detail (LOD/LOI) and COBie requirements at all stage gates.
Facilitate digital design review meetings and clash-resolution sessions with project managers, site teams, and design consultants.
Support site delivery teams by extracting accurate 2D/3D deliverables, quantity take-offs, constructability reviews, and trenchless/civils layout details.
Standards & Process Quality:
Enforce naming conventions, model structures, and data exchange protocols across all internal and sub-consultant contributions.
Maintain object libraries, template files, and CAD/BIM standards tailored for linear power routes, high-voltage underground cabling, and utility installations.
Key Requirements & Qualifications
Experience:
3–5+ years of BIM Coordination experience, with a specific focus on civil engineering, linear infrastructure, utilities, or high-voltage power networks.
Technical Skills:
Proficiency in core BIM software: Autodesk Revit, Navisworks Manage, AutoCAD Civil 3D, and MicroStation/Bentley OpenBuildings.
Hands-on experience managing Common Data Environments (CDEs) such as Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC / BIM 360), or Asite.
Familiarity with GIS tools (e.g., ArcGIS, QGIS) and their integration into BIM workflows.
Standards & Best Practices:
Comprehensive working knowledge of the ISO 19650 framework, PAS 1192 series, and UK digital delivery standards.
Education:
Bachelor’s Degree, Higher National Diploma (HND), or equivalent qualification in Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Digital Engineering, or a related discipline.
