JSM Utility Services (EU) GmbH, whilst supported by the wider JSM Group, is a startup business seeking to expand rapidly to service both existing and new clients and is at the forefront of JSM European expansion.
SCOPE OF ROLE
As HSE Manager Germany, you will play a key role in establishing and developing JSM's Health, Safety and Environmental function in Germany.
This is an exciting opportunity for a hands-on HSE professional with around 3–5 years of experience who is ready to take ownership, broaden their expertise and grow with the business.
You will work closely with the Group SHEQ Director and the UK SHEQ team while taking increasing ownership of HSE activities in Germany. You will have the opportunity to develop your expertise across HSE, quality, compliance and risk management, with a clear development path towards future leadership responsibility.
As the German business grows, you will have the opportunity to build and develop the local HSE team and potentially progress into a future Head of HSE Germany role.
We will support your development through a structured development plan and access to our Leadership Academy, providing training and development opportunities to help you grow into your future responsibilities.
HOW YOU`LL SUCCEED

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING
Focus on the actual responsibilities and day-to-day work.
Support the implementation and continuous improvement of JSM's HSE Management System in Germany.
Ensure compliance with German legislation, client requirements and JSM standards.
Support risk assessments, method statements, emergency plans, inductions and toolbox talks.
Conduct and support site inspections, audits and proactive HSE monitoring.
Support the selection, assessment and monitoring of subcontractors.
Investigate accidents, incidents and utility damages, identifying root causes and corrective actions.
Monitor and report HSE KPIs and performance.
Work with project and construction teams to ensure HSE requirements are embedded from pre-construction through to delivery.
Support the development of the German HSE function as JSM's European business grows.
Over time, take on greater leadership responsibility and contribute to building the German HSE team.
WHAT IT TAKES
3–5 years of experience in HSE, SHEQ, EHS or a related field.
Experience in construction, utilities, infrastructure, energy, electrical, data centres or another high-risk environment.
Good knowledge of German HSE legislation and regulatory requirements.
Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional qualification in HSE, Engineering, Environmental Management or a related field.
Working knowledge of ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001.
Experience with risk assessments, audits, inspections, incident investigations and corrective actions.
Experience working with subcontractors, contractors or external stakeholders.
Comfortable with digital tools and systems; experience with Procore or similar platforms is a plus.
Fluent German and English, both written and spoken.
