SCOPE OF ROLE

As an Assistant Quantity Surveyor, you’ll support the commercial team in delivering a range of civil engineering and utility projects. Working alongside experienced Quantity Surveyors and Senior staff, you’ll gain hands-on exposure across both pre- and post-contract activities — building your knowledge and progressing towards managing your own projects.

HOW YOU’LL SUCCEED

• Assist with the administration of subcontractor accounts, including applications and payments

• Support the preparation of applications for payment and valuations

• Help track variations and change control

• Contribute to cost reporting and CVRs

• Maintain accurate commercial records and documentation

• Assist with procurement of subcontractors and suppliers

• Support tendering and pricing activities

• Work closely with project teams to understand project delivery and commercial performance

WHAT IT TAKES

• Experience in a commercial or construction environment (placement, internship, or AQS role)

• Degree or working towards a qualification in Quantity Surveying or similar (preferred)

• Basic understanding of NEC or JCT contracts (desirable, not essential)

• Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn • Good communication and organisational skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office
