THE TEAM

You’ll be joining the Gas Operations team at JSM Group, where we specialise in delivering high-quality gas network services to major clients such as SGN. Our team is passionate about safety, operational excellence, and providing innovative solutions. As part of this dynamic team, you’ll play a key role in ensuring that our projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest standards.

SCOPE OF ROLE

As a Project Manager, you will oversee and support JSM teams on gas-related projects, including Mains Replacement, Gas Services, Diversions, and Connections. You will ensure the efficient deployment of resources, maintain compliance with safety regulations, and drive operational excellence. You’ll be responsible for managing various projects, ensuring seamless coordination between JSM teams, clients, and subcontractors.

HOW YOU'LL SUCCEED

To excel in this role, you will:
✔ Lead and supervise project teams to ensure safety, quality, and compliance with JSM policies and client specifications.
✔ Monitor and manage project progress to ensure timely completion and cost control.
✔ Foster strong relationships with clients and supply chain partners, identifying opportunities for cost-effective innovations.
✔ Provide ongoing operational and technical support to JSM operatives.
✔ Conduct regular site visits, ensuring all health, safety, and environmental standards are met.
✔ Deliver effective site briefings and toolbox talks to promote a safety-first culture.
✔ Collaborate with the commercial team to manage variations, payments, and subcontractor accounts.
✔ Prepare progress reports to keep JSM management informed of project status and financial performance.

WHAT IT TAKES

✔ Experience: gas experience/knowledge is essential. 

✔ Leadership & Management Skills: Proven ability to lead and motivate teams effectively.
✔ Communication Skills: Strong written, verbal, and IT communication abilities to engage with clients, teams, and stakeholders.
✔ Organisational Expertise: Excellent time-management and problem-solving skills to ensure smooth project execution.
✔ Technical Proficiency: Understanding of HSG47 and proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Project, and Outlook.
✔ Customer-Focused Mindset: Ability to build positive relationships with clients and promote JSM’s services.

Qualifications Required:

✔ SHEA Gas Passport
✔ SCO scheme

✔ 5 years experience in the gas sector 

Desirable: 

✔ CITB or equivalent certification in site safety management (SSSTS/SMSTS)
✔ Service / Mainlaying experience
