Site Supervisor
THE TEAM
You’ll be joining the Gas Operations team at JSM Group, where we specialise in delivering high-quality gas network services to major clients such as SGN. Our team is passionate about safety, operational excellence, and providing innovative solutions. As part of this collaborative team, you’ll play a vital role in managing site-level operations, ensuring compliance with safety policies, and driving project success.
SCOPE OF ROLE
As a Site Supervisor, you will oversee day-to-day operations at site level on specifically assigned activities and work streams associated with the contract. You will be responsible for ensuring the efficient and economic use of resources, materials, transport, plant, and equipment while maintaining compliance with company policies, client specifications, and industry standards. You will play a key role in ensuring projects are delivered incident-free, on time, and within budget.
HOW YOU'LL SUCCEED
✔ Ensure the necessary plant, equipment, and materials are available for teams to carry out works on behalf of JSM.
✔ Manage the delivery of materials to site in a timely and efficient manner.
✔ Maintain clean and tidy sites that meet all service, agency, and health and safety requirements.
✔ Ensure compliance with Local Authority Permit Conditions and other regulatory requirements.
✔ Oversee the completion of utility damage reports and ensure accurate documentation is submitted to the Head Office.
✔ Promote and implement policies and procedures, ensuring that all employees on-site are trained in safety and environmental emergency awareness.
✔ Participate in the delivery of Site Safety Briefings, Alerts, Memos, and Toolbox Talks.
✔ Monitor and ensure that RAMs (Risk Assessment Method Statements) are briefed and adhered to on-site.
✔ Conduct regular safety audits and ensure Site-Specific Risk Assessments are reviewed and signed off for every visit.
✔ Ensure that utility drawings (no more than 3 months old) are available and that trial holes are conducted where necessary.
✔ Provide operational and technical support to team leaders and operatives.
✔ Submit Employee Timesheets, Labour, Plant & Transport Return Sheets accurately and on time.
✔ Identify opportunities for introducing new innovations and industry products.
✔ Manage communication with other companies within the same site and maintain regular updates to avoid disruptions.
✔ Continuously build and maintain strong relationships with clients and other stakeholders, ensuring client satisfaction.
WHAT IT TAKES
✔ Leadership & Management Skills: Ability to lead, motivate, and manage teams to ensure successful project delivery.
✔ Technical Competency: Strong knowledge of NRSWA, with experience in managing compliance with permit conditions and RAMs.
✔ Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills to liaise effectively with clients, team members, and stakeholders.
✔ Problem-Solving & Decision-Making: Ability to assess situations quickly and provide practical solutions to keep projects on track.
✔ Organisational Expertise: Excellent time management and organisational skills to handle multiple tasks and deadlines.
✔ Flexibility & Adaptability: Ability to adapt to changing circumstances and provide solutions as needed.
✔ Safety & Compliance Awareness: A strong understanding of policies and a proactive approach to maintaining a safe and compliant work environment.
Requirements:
✔ Customer engagement is essential.
Desirable:
✔ Supervisors Accreditation (NRSWA Supervisor Card).
✔ Appreciation of Construction or Street works.
